x64 support

Is there a X64 bit in the works? Foobar2000 runs finicky on Xp Pro 64. Was just wondering.

It would help if you defined finicky and maybe said what components you have installed

By the way, what is the current status of this problem:
[a href='index.php?showtopic=56979']Error Flushing File: Object not found, "Convert to..." error[/a]

(Several reports about XP x64 and Vista x64 incompatibility, converter doesn't work with various command line encoders when used with "Custom" encoding preset, built-in presets work fine)

I'm wondering too. Apparently the 64-bit ASIO drivers from ESI isn't compatible with 32-bit applications

I'm sorry to disappoint you but incompatibility with drivers from an obscure soundcard vendor doesn't quite justify releasing a separate foobar2000 version that is incompatible with all current third-party components.

I use Vista x64 for development, been using it since RC1 days (late 2006), I'm yet to see any of those issues in Converter - if those occur only with custom presets, it sounds like another case of PEBKAC to me.

PS. The ESI ASIO problem doesn't even need a x64 version of foobar2000, the ASIO component could just start a helper x64 process to call the ASIO driver, but then the whole component would need to be rewritten and this isn't exactly top priority right now.
Microsoft Windows: We can't script here, this is bat country.

From the reports I've read, it looks like there may be a real problem. What are additional debug methods, besides Sysinternals "Process Monitor", to try to investigate the issue on the user side?

You can't load a 64-bit process from a 32-bit process AFAIK.

Which also means, if a pure x64 build was made, all the third-party components would have to be rebuilt for x64 as well. It's just not worth it for the infinitesimally small performance gain.

I'm wondering how old otachan asio x64 plugin works.

Unfortunately, there is no version for  fb2k 0.9. Any idea why ?

It communicates with an external 64-bit executable.

The output component API is not part of the SDK. Any output component not available from this page is probably in violation of the SDK license.
