i've gotten foobar down to only using around 10000K, but it uses around 50 percent CPU now! Most 50000K programs don't even take that much.... what the hell is going on?

Most likely trackinfo is the culprit.  Do the following to every trackinfo instances you have.

Scroll steps -> 1
Scroll speed/scroll delay -> 50000 ms
