1. foobar can not remember a window with a playlist view that is less than 8 rows long. I set it to one row only to get foobar window as little as possible, but when I restart it, it goes to a default of 8 rows.
2. On columns ribbon the letters are light gray on white, so I can not see anything.

Hello,
I use Foobar 2000 V2 beta 31 (32 bits).
I use an auto playlist to select classic tracks not yet played
My filter pattern is:
genre LESS "8" AND ((%play_count% LESS 1) OR ((%play_count% LESS 2) AND (%last_played%  DURING LAST 1 HOURS))) AND %discnumber% LESS 6000 AND NOT %rating% IS 1
Comment:
Genre less “8” = tracks of classical music
A track read for the first time must disappear from the auto playlist after one hour
Tracks with rating=1 do not appear in the playlist

Since the installation of Foobar 2000 V2 this auto-playlist is no longer updated in real time.

To force the update you must either relaunch foobar or revalidate the filter pattern.

According to my tests:
Field-based auto-playlists update in real time when the value of the field is changed.
The auto-playlist based on time criteria does not update in real time when time criterion is checked.

thanks for your help

I have build A new system and i'm running W11
How do i get exclusive output on my HDMI output without craks and extreme distortion.
Whithout exclusive it all seems to work without distortion but then the output does not switch from stereo to surround and vise versa

Now i'm running the 32 bit V2.0 beta 33
I'm running the 32bit version because 1 plugin is not willing to go 64 bit.

I hav tried some of the advanced settings in foobar.
Advanced > Playback > exclusive  output overrides on and off with diffent values. (can not go higher 100ms ??)
Advanced > Playback > Buffering some diffeent values

I tried: In Windows running the Foobar2000.exe in realtime priority ( helped in win 7 and 8 with asio ticks and pops)

Anyone any trick op there sleeves?

(PS noticed same beaviour on a laptop with W11)

Your filter pattern doesn't make sense.

Why?
This filter has been working perfectly for years.
I just have a real-time refresh problem since Foobar v2.

Hi @Case
For a clean installation I always delete the two indicated Foobar folders during the uninstall.
Therefore the file shared.dll will be newly created but the timestamp is now older (16.04. -19:44) than the one of foobar2000.exe (16.4. - 19.45).

As a workaround I have used the same fix as I have described for the "missing shared.dll error" in my previous post
https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,122847.msg1021504.html#msg1021504
Something weird is going on. The shared.dll file is always updated along with the other core files. Could you log an example installation that reproduces the issue with Process Monitor? Please do not filter out at least anything that touches any file called shared.dll.
Hi @Case
I think it was an issue in the Windows registry because some Volume7 and Volume8 Foobar2000 keys were locked in the registry and couldn't be deleted anymore. Therefore I have made a save of this probably invalid system and I have restored one of my valid system images.

Now the clean install is working again and I can also update the version 26-x64 with all my settings to 33-x64.

re: time based queries...

The easiest thing to test with is the Library menu>Playback statistics>Show recently played. This opens a library search window. Now click the button on the extreme right with 3 dots>Create autoplaylist.

Now listen as normal and find tracks getting added as you listen. Works for me (tm).

You can test this with a simple filter autoplaylist.

thank you for your answers.
Here is a simpler example:

Query pattern:
%last_played% DURING LAST 5 MINUTES

On the screenshots below we see:
At 10:19 am we see that the playlist is well updated and real time according to the tracks played
But it is not updated to remove tracks read more than 5 minutes ago (it still contains tracks read from 9h20).

At 10;20 I revalidated the filter manually which causes the expected result

The playlist with the filter pattern
genre LESS "8" AND ((%play_count% LESS 1) OR ((%play_count% LESS 2) AND (%last_played%  DURING LAST 1 HOURS))) AND %discnumber% LESS 6000 AND NOT %rating% IS 1
cited in my first post is intended to contain unread classic tracks.
(tracks read must disappear with a one-hour latency to allow full playback before erasing).
With the V1 this mechanism worked correctly, since the V2 the tracks read for more than an hour no longer disappear in real time.

Thanks for all reports.
The timed refresh bug was quite hard to reproduce reliably and depended on order of other events. Should be gone in beta 34.
Also fixed scroll bar context menus, nice find.

Can't reproduce. last played track is removed after 5 min from Search panel and from the created autoplaylist.

Interesting

When the search window is opened it updates in real time and the playlist too.
When the search window is closed the playlist does not update in real time.

My configuration

Windows 7 64 bits
Foobar 2000.V2.0 beta 31(x86) 32 bits

Exactly that should be fixed in beta 34. Please update.

Bingo!
Broken Runservice Setting for 4 foobars.
When I replaced "foo_run.dll.cfg", it returned to the original.

Many thanks.

I had the same issue. This settings solve my problem with distorsion on exclusive outpur:

Hi Peter,

Re-Facets freezes foobar on start-up, if Re-Facets mode is set to Library and a search query is present (like "%style% HAS rock"). Freeze eats no CPU.

My config:
- beta 34, 64bit
- 40.000+ tracks
- 8 facets, 4 of them multi-value: language, genre, style, mood (a lot to compute/filter^^")

Workaround:
Setting Re-Facets mode to Playlist.

Related observation:
While updating, Re-Facet is blocking other operations. Re-Facets is very slow compared to old (in-memory) Facets. A query on my machine takes roughly 1 sec per 10k items, while old one updates almost instantly.

Hi Grimes,

"Show errors" listed 14 file not found errors (guess they were from early beta, when I accidentally used 1.6 foobar to move some folders).

I cleared that error list. No new errors after restarting foobar. Button greyed out.

Forgot to mention that the freeze bug appeared in previous betas as well.

Sometimes the start-up freeze did not happen with new betas, but eventually reappeared, as my collection grew or changed my re-facets setup
