WASAPI 3—gap on pause/seek/change track BUT not on auto next—solution?

I was the one with the delay issue using WASAPI - well I sort of figured it out - it only has an issue when I connect it with HDMI to my Pioneer SC-27 receiver and it is obviously the HDMI interface resetting itself whenever I pause, move the positioner or start a new track.  HOWEVER,  when the player moves normally from one track to the next, there is not pause at all.

This tells me there is some slight difference in what happens on a pause vs what happens on track to track action.  My guess is a stopping of the bit stream which causes it.  So if there could be an option to have the bitstream faked with some nice silent bits to keep the interface alive at all times, that would be really really WONDERFUL!

The delay goes away if I output to DS.  Of course so do all the advantages (there are many) of WASAPI.  :-(
