problems with .cue files

Hello,

recently I downloaded this program, I have several audio .cue files and want to convert them to FLAC or MP3, which components need for this?

I'm tired of explaining what a cue sheet is. It's a text file...open it in Notepad and look.

I'm guessing you actually don't have just the .cue ... you have the audio file(s) mentioned in the .cue, too... and when you load the .cue into the foobar2000 playlist window, you are seeing all the tracks and can play them, because foobar lets you use the cue sheet as a playlist even though that's not what it's designed for ... and now you want to convert the tracks to separate files instead of all being in the one audio file mentioned in the .cue?

Have you tried highlighting all the tracks in the playlist, right-clicking on one of them, and choosing Convert?

Well, sorry you're "tired" but you must understand that not everyone got to know, at least I did not know that .cue files were a simple note and thought it contained something else.

If not cause discomfort happen again because I did not think I get tired so fast. But thanks anyway

Sorry. It's a hot summer and I don't have air conditioning, and only certain topics in the forum catch my eye, so it feels like the same questions are asked over and over.

Certain communities dedicated to pirating music have come up with many rules for people to follow when sharing rips ... so there are all these rips out there being distributed as "image+cue" (+various logs, images, etc.). This format has advantages, but it leads to people who aren't familiar with the technology just downloading these files, and then they don't know what to do with them because it's not automatic and obvious ... so they come here, and some of them don't search for posts on the same topics, they don't look at the wiki, don't learn what a cue sheet is, don't even poke around in the software or anything... they just ask variations of the same question: "how do I play or convert these files I have downloaded illegally?"

Many people in this forum don't want to even bother responding to such questions, but I am one of the fools who thinks that if we just answer and put the FAQ answers in our wiki, the knowledge will get out there and it will somehow help keep the forum from being overrun with this kind of stuff. Of course it's impossible to tell if it helps, since we don't know how many people actually do find what they're looking for and don't end up needing to post.
