Is it possible to play CDs directly through fb2k?

The short answer is, "No."  A longer answer is, "Not yet."  If Peter makes it possible it will be.  Win 9x was never to be supported, but now it is.  Thankfully, too, as my laptop is MS ME.  When my desktop shows up from Dell it will be WXP, but that is two weeks from now. 

I would like to see CD support.  But that is the author's option.

Looks like we'll have to keep out fingers crossed!

How do the buttons on the CD player work.  When you press play on the CD player, does it send the audio directly to the soundcard or does it go throught software?

This is not an urgent question, I'm just interested, as I think it goes directly to the soundcard.

I don't think we really need CD support in Foobar, why play a CD in your noisy horrible PC when you CD player can do it about a million times better?

What application are you using to play CDs?

What is your OS?

If it's windows2000/xp, is digital audio playback enabled for your CD-ROM?

I do not have a CD player at home.  Just my PC and a good number of CDs.  Being able to play CD on foobar2000 would at least benefit people like me.

It would be nice to have the option.  A million times better!!??  What hardware are you using, mon?

it doesnt need changes in f2k's core to play cds does it? if not, anyone can make a plugin for it not only peter right?

CD support is coming.  Looks like Peer is creating the finest audio Swiss, er, Polish, Army knife around.  Keeping it minimal is quite some piece of coding.  I am guessing it is written at Wizard level in the "C" family or Assembler.  Anyone going to let us know?
