sending commands to foobar

Is there way to send commands to foobar directly or do i need to send them to a component.

specifically "play next" etc.

all the stuff i've found references a "core" option in the preferences that doesn't' seem to be in 0.9.5.2.

i'm a newb to development in general but would like to build a standalone app that can send commands to foobar...

any suggestions?

Do it from windows command prompt, with full path to foobar or by adding foobar path to your PATH user/system environment variable.
