Filename instead of metadata title

What do I have to do that the filename and not the title from the metadata is displayed in ColumnsUI ? Sometimes I prefer this (useful title better than Track 6 or so)

I see that there is an option or syntax %filename_ext% but where do I enter this or is there an option that one can switch easily between (self created) filename and the metadata title, maybe ?

file>preferences>display>columns UI>playlist view. from there you can customise the columns. i can't remember the exact name of the settings you need so check all the different tabs.

I had found this setting before I posted here already but am just not sure how to handle this option,
I can create a new column there of course but what do I enter at "Title" or "Linked meta field" for example ? It does not make much sense to have a new column "Filename" when ColumnsUI still says "track 6" while playing for example (the Foobar default UI shows the filename as wanted)

There just would have to be an option "Show filename instead of metadata" or so but I am not sure that this exists in ColumnsUI (or if there is another possibilty to handle this situation)

you don't want a linked meta field as that allows tag editing directly from the playlist. the filename is a property so it's read only.

I think the easiest way in such cases will be editing the tags either by a program which makes filenames to tags or (and this will be possible in Foobar or ColumnsUI) to edit the tags manually in the Properties dialog, this should work, only the Title line would be important in these situations so not too much work to do (freedb seems too weak at least for several things I have here, the tagging  suggestions/found titles were just nonsense)

Leave linked meta field empty. Title is just how the column is named, has nothing to do with what is actually shown, therefore you can name it whatever you want.

You need to switch to the 'scripts' tab on this page (from the current 'options' tab) to actually input what will be shown inside the playlist. Here you can use the %filename_ext% titleformatting that you already found.
