What Notebook is best for...

Hi All,
I would like some on advice as to what Notebook can do Music processing as well as Producing, I will be using NI Absynth 3 as well as FM& and Cubase, other hardware I'll be using for gigs is keyboards with Midi in/out...Although my PC at the moment is sufficient as some of you already know that it's no fun carting these big machines and monitors around on gigs ect, So a notebook or simular will do the trick...Also advice whether these noebooks have their own internal sound cards or external sound cards( These can be pretty7 expensive for Notebooks)...Alsi the Midi in/out, would I need an external Midi interface as well?...OR does this depend on the type of sound card, i.e. External/Internal...Advice on this will be gratefully appreciated...Thanks

There is only one card I am aware of for a notebook that can be used for music producing. It's the Echo Indigo 24/96, it's PCMCIA. The drawback is that it's very expensive and I have yet to find a cheaper alternative. I believe that's just for DJing too.

http://www.digitalproaudio.com/m-audio-usb...isport-2x2.html - you are also going to need a MIDI Interface for hooking up your keyboard controllers. It's probably going to have to be external. I would look into firewire too, but that's not cheap either

Baseman:

Choose a laptop with the right speed and memory for audio processing and choose the soundcard with the right inputs and outputs, naturally.

There are lots of USB cards available. Firewire too. You will need more exact requirements if you want advice. (Inputs, outputs, latency.)

P.S. The ellipsis "..." normally indicates the intentional ommission of words, rather than of a more appropriate punctuation mark.
