Missing Tag Information Displays As "?"

...and I would prefer the field remained unpopulated in the listing, ie displays as a blank.  Is there some magic incantation I have not found so far (default UI)?

Yes, enclose the ? field in brackets:  [%field%]  (displays only if value present)
