How to change path to song without losing ANY data?

Hey guys,

Sometimes I organise my music in a folder:

Folder\Artist such that it isn't a folder containing its album because I don't know that information yet and haven't been bothered to look it up.

So inside the folder this could be the structure:

Folder: D:\Fat Man\

Files and folders:

The Fat Man 2011
The Fat Man V2 2012
hi.mp3
go.mp3
gg.mp3

So bascially what I am asking is this:

If I were to create a folder and put hi, go and gg.mp3 inside that folder can I tell foobar2000 their new location while keeping the playback counter, rating and other aspects of the metadata.

Thanks for any help.

create the new directory
add it in your foobar library configuration
copy the music to the new location

I haven't the faintest idea on how to use that library system :S

save all the playlists to .m3u files.
then edit the path in these m3u playlists, save the changes, and finally import to foobar 2000.

And this will retain stuff like playcount etc...? :3

YES, there will be no affect to media library.

Thanks a lot

AFAIK: if your files have tags and you use latest foo_playcount then you don't need to do anything special. Just move your files.

That’s right, and here’s more info:
New playback statistics data pinning scheme introduced in version 3.0
Quote
Playback statistics are now pinned to a combination of artist + album + disc number + track number + track title information, contrary to pre-3.0 versions which would pin data to file paths.
The consequences of this behavior are:
[…]
No risk of data loss when moving files around or between computers.
Note also that foo_playcount does not require the media library, which is not the same thing as your ratings and other statistics anyway (as pikashi implied it was).

Starting from version 3.0, collection of playback statistics is no longer restricted to your Media Library content. You can use this component without using Media Library at all
