New plugin - GPL violations?

Hello!

I wrote a dsp resampler using libsamplerate aka "Secret Rabbit Code". I've been reading the GPL license but its not clear to me whether or not I'm violating the license if I publish the plugin along with my source code. Foobar2000 (which is not GPL) dynamically link with my GPL dsp plugin - does this mean that I violate the license? My plugin link with the foobar2000 SDK, but that is opensource. Also my plugin link with some Microsoft libraries which are not opensource - does this mean that I violate the license?

Maybe this clears things up, or maybe it doesn't

Actually it does not. I read this topic but there is no clear answer in that thread.

According to the FSF and the owner of "Secret Rabbit Code," you are.  It is true that there is no clear answer (and there won't be one until a case like this gets a court ruling), but since the thread hotzenpl0tz mentioned explicitly mentions the code you wish to use, consider that case lost.  You could, of course, ask the code owner, but you'll probably get shot down.  In fact, [a href="http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=36153&view=findpost&p=337520]this post by Otto42[/url] is the exact scenario that you're following, with ensuing answer from FSF.  Like it or not, I suggest you don't release your resampler plugin.  Now, if you find another DSP whose author will allow you to use it for foobar2000, then by all means, do so.

I know it doesn't help you now, but the 0.9 SDK will include a relatively easy way to use any of the installed resampler DSPs.
