Yea a .lrc editor that could be used in conjunction with lyrics show panel would be good. Like you have it in the Lyrics Show Panel context menu. And it should be able to take time stamps from foobar so that you can enter the lyrics of the song and then whenever a line starts you hit a button and it automatically adds the correct time stamp.

Although I guess this would belong in a separate thread to request such a component.

A component like this already exists. It is another lyric display. It can be found on this site at the bottom: http://foo2k.chottu.net/

The only reason I still use this component is because of the editor, so if an editor like this were included in Lyrics Show Panel, that'd be amazing .

Even if you were Chinese native speaker, it wouldn't help you. It's Japanese. Seriously, altough the side is in Japanese the component itself is in English.

Fine then it's Japanese. Doesn't really make a difference since I can't tell which component is able to do what.

Maybe the online translation of the Japanese Wiki can help you. It is sometimes very hard to understand, especially when English is not your first language, but it helped me for the other components on that site.

You don't need to understand the website (which is Japanese) since this component is in English anyways. Also, if you can't figure out WHICH component to download, it's the one at the VERY bottom of the page. Here is a direct link: http://foo2k.chottu.net/foo_uie_lyrics_panel.zip. I will link you to the thread about this specific component so the talk can continue on there since this thread is about T.P. Wang's lyric component. Here is the other topic:

great component!..
feature request: being able to display the active lyric line in the foobar window caption, or maybe the possibility to export it somehow.

I cannot get it to display lyrics with my FLAC files. MP3s work, but not FLAC. I have used the same tagger for both FLAC and MP3.

I have a suggestion to improve that great plugin:
I like a band with a special character in the bandname called "Therapy?". My files of that band are tagged in the same way with a questionmark at the end. Although I know that for the most songs are .lrc files on the server, this panel unfortunately didn't find anything. If I search for "Therapy" without that questionmark the songs are found. What's the point? Minilyrics itself find the songs, never mind if there's a questionmark or not. (On the lyrics - server the bandname is called "Therapy" without special character)

So wouldn't it be possible to improve the search function to simply not read special characters from the file tags?

Hi there...

There's a problem with saving Files to directory...
At the "normal" options page under Preferences -> Tools -> Lyric Show Panels is no option where you can configure how the lyrics are safed as file (*).
You have to right-click on the lyrics panel choosing "Online Search" and under save options there is the field "Safe format"...
So... what you define at the "Safe format" field is what your global safe format is about. This is not very intuitive...
By the way... all my lyrics are stored into .txt-files... but i want to have .lrc-files...
And... I don't wanna use that association manager... it's a good idea... but not everyone wanna use that... why is there no option disabling the assoc-manager?

I have to say... configure this plugin confuses me all the time. There is no consistency... I think a fully rebuild of the option page would solve that problem...

(*) What is the "Lyric file name" field for...? I cannot see any effect by changing values in it... I only got
"Filename : %_filename%.lrc"
in it... but it reads my %_filename%.txt files as well...

Thx,
eNc7

I have a request. Currently when I use Copy Lyrics (without Timestamp) the lyrics are just copied as they are in the .txt or .lrc files. I would like them to copied the way they are displayed in the Panel. So the chorus wouldn't just appear once but would be put wherever it comes.

That would make sharing lyrics online much easier since it's just a c&p job. Right now I have to go to lyrics sites and c&p it from there so that the format is correct.

would you be able to make lyrics fade in/out like in MiniLyrics?

Currently I won't add any effects on vision, just bug fix and minor updates, sorry.

also is there a plan to make a lyrics editor that can be used in conjunction with lyrics show panel?

Yes, I've started it a few months ago but it's far from use.

I don't know what has happed, because Lyric Show Panel use titleformatting to determine which lyric to display, I think it won't have problem if your tag and lyric file is right. I also have a couple of FLAC files, they work good.

I may add something like %lyric_currentline% field to do that.

Planned, thanks for your advice.

I think you refer to "Save format", it means file name(exclude ext.) when the lyric is saved, unless you've chosen "embed to file".
All lyrics will be stored as it be (so when you download a .txt lyric file, it won't be saved as .lrc)

why is there no option disabling the assoc-manager

If you ask why, I don't know, because it exists for a long time before I made improvements to this component, I think set lyrics.xml readonly will do that trick though....

I'll say that too, it something like junk, however, refactor require a lot of work(in fact, not the UI is bad design, also source code...), I've e're tried to refactor this component, but failed...

I think you shouldn't append ext. to filename. Lyric show will read filename as lrc first, if failed, then read as .txt.

Very strange. My FLAC files conform to standard with only FLAC tags. I do not have any ID3 tags in my FLAC files. This is the recommended way.

I can view lyrics in other players.

Can you provide more information?
Are these lyric files stored on hdd, or embeded to FLAC file?
If they are embeded to Flac file, can foobar2000 access them through file Properties window?

The lyrics are embedded in FLAC tags. Yes, foobar can access them through the properties window.

@dypsis:
Strage, I've tested my FLAC(only FLAC tags) files with "LYRICS" and "UNSYNCED LYRICS", doesn't see any problem. Are you using different frame to store LYRIC? And did add "FLAC" to your "skip read / write tag files by filetype" setting? And check your filenames, do they match the critera in "Filter" of Lyric Show configruation (by deafault, you see, skip files which matched Track*;CDImage.*;Unknown*)?

Lyrics Show Panel (Modified version)

No FLAC in skip read / write tag files by filetype".

Filter is how you posted above.

As for the tags. I just used Tag&Rename. Mp3tag also sees the lyrics.

@dypsis:

So, if your filename are:
Track*.flac
CDImage.flac
Unknow*.flac

Lyirc Show will not load lyric from these files.
You can remove that filter if you want.

Hey, I've got question. How do I edit lyrics? When I'm editing file in C:\Program Files\foobar2000\lyrics\ nothing happens... Is there any trick to edit lyrics?

Lyrics Show Panel (Modified version)

Stupid question, but have you tried to reload the lyrics in foobar after editing the file? Right-click on the lyrics panel and choose "reload lyrics".

Yup, I tried it... I even deleted *.lrc file, then reloaded, but lyrics didn't disappear ;o

Well, if you are sure that the .lrc file is deleted and you still see the lyrics - I would guess that the lyrics may be in multiple locations. Confirm that there is not a track.txt file around that might be getting picked up by foobar as the lyric file or you might want to check the properties of the track in question and see if you have a "lyrics" field with data.
