i have another request:

it would be really nice if the settings of the lyric show panel would be saved in the panels ui config (*.pui file) so that users who download a theme don't have to make the settings manually.

Wow ! The "Rate lyrics in context menu" option is great !  I hope lots of people are going to use it, so that we can get reliable ratings soon. People, please take a bit of your time and give ratings to your favorite song lyrics !!! Thank you.

Of course, it would be awesome if LSP would optionally replace an already stored lyric with no rating (or with a low rating) with a lyric with a higher rating. Will this be implemented ?

Example to make this clear :
- Let's assume we have a given lyric stored, either within the music file, or in a separate .lrc or .txt file. This lyric has been downloaded before the rating system. So it has no rating at all, but we can assume chances are big that it's not perfect.
- Next time the music file is played, LSP looks online for lyrics, finds a lyric with a good rating (4 or 5), and optionally replaces the existing lyric.
- If the rating is not high enough (< 4), LSP does nothing.

It seems that last version (maybe not the only last, I've just noticed it) has a bug? I set plugin's save scheme like "Embed to file", and I have "Replace nontimestamped lyrics automatically" checked. Now I see that if file has embedded nontimestamped txt-lyrics inside and plugin is able to load .LRC equivalent from Internet (I verified it), nothing happens and nontimestamped lyrics left in place. It's sad...

EDIT: Yes, I had a little test and found - "0.3.1.2 Alpha 3" worked ok, seems something was broken a bit while recompiling to "0.3.2.0 Alpha 1".

Hi:
I'm using this plugin to show exclusively embedded lyrics.
It always draws them starting from the middle of the panel, the upper 50% of the panel is empty.
I've tried all the display settings without success.
My mp3's are properly tagged without any white space at the start of lyrics, so... I have no clue.
Anyone has any idea about what could cause this behaviour?

The older versions of the same panel (from some months ago) did behave well in this respect.

Thanks!

Is there a way to stop Lyrics Show from displaying lyrics for internet streams (i.e. XM Radio stations?)

hey, just tried this component, its great. i only have one request. give the lyric show panel a class name so i can use girder to detect its presence.

edit:
actually now that i play with it more i found a way for girder to detect it. it would be nice to be able to scroll hte lyrics with the up/down keyboard keys though.

So.. I have a quite old version of the plugin and came here to see if the thing that bugs me the most was... corrected. I'm gessing not.

So.. you think eventually we will be able to get lyrics vertically aligned in the middle by default eventually? Everytime the lyrics loads, the first line starts at 50% vertically so I have to drag it up everytime so I can see the whole thing.
Looks like i'm not the only one who would like to see this.. fixed. Thanks alot for the nice component by the way.

i think whats it tries to do is keep the currently playing line in the middle of the screen. i like it this way.

Hi all, I'm going busy now, so I apologize for not replying your posts.

I've just uploaded 0.3.2.0 Alpha 2 with a few bug fixes, and some performance tweak.

I may provide Changelog later.

bye.

great man, my cpu usage was at ~23% when the lyrics panel was not displayed and 40-60% when it was active. now its back down to 0-2% and 15-20% when the panel is shown.

i think "some performance tweak" is an understatement

I use Columns UI and have a tab stack with the Album Art Panel, Playlist Switcher and Lyrics Show Panel. If I select the Album Art Panel and after the restart of foobar the Lyrics Show Panel is in the foreground, although the Album Art Panel is still selected.

After I have switched between Album Art and Lyrics Panel and back, it shows the album cover.

The same with the playlist switcher panel.

@radecke:
Sorry, I was intended to do but it requires totally rewriting the codes. Though I'm working on a fully rewritten lyrics component, it'll be far to complete.

@Jose Hidalgo:
Yes, since I've embed a db engine....

@nightfishing:
I dont know about foo_xm plugin, but if xm radio can provide titleforamting info such as %title% I think lyric show panel will display lyric.

@MasterT:
See my first post, "Workaround" section.
PS: If you are using tab please *uncheck* "transparent background"

I do have the same problem even with the new 0.3.2.0 alpha 2...
...solution anyone?

T.P

The XM plugin retrieves song titles and artists (they show up correctly in Playlist View), but the title  formatting is odd; other components show the channel name as %title%

i.e. when I open the "80's" channel, Lyric Show pulls up a Robby Williams song titled "80's"

While I would love to get them to work together, I would settle for being able to disable associations for the streams.

As always, thanks for your time.

If I disable "Enable Scroll (Non Timestamped)", my lyrics are cut off at the top.

I am using v0.3.2.0 Alpha 2.

@dypsis:
not a bug.
You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I believe it will be annoying if you enable scroll and it's scrolling so fast that you will miss some text lines.

So it's better to leave such a blank on top.

Lyrics Show Panel (Modified version)

Reply #395
@T.P Wang
No. There is no blank on top. The lyrics are cut off. The top portion is missing.
The first few lines are missing.

Reply #396
@dypsis:
If your first few lines are valid characters I think you should check your vertical padding.

Lyrics Show Panel (Modified version)

Reply #397
I just messed around with the vertical padding, but it doesn't make any difference.

By the way. The previous version v0.3.2.0 Alpha 1 doesn't have this problem.

@dypsis:
Sorry I can't reproduce it, and I have some questions:
1. Does it happen to EVERY plain text lyric?
2. Which UI are you using, Dockable Panels, Columns UI or Panels UI?

Lyrics Show Panel (Modified version)

sorry to say but that did not work.
The texts first line starts at the middle of the panel and the text then scrolls up, keeping the momentary lyrics in the middel of the panel.

edit:

The text should be shown initially with its first line at the top of the panel.
Then the indicator highline should scroll down on the text line by line until it is in the middle (or option to let it scroll down selected number of lines) of the panel.
Then the text should scroll up under the indicator highline
