I've been wondering why so many newbies post in the "Validated News" forum...
Wanna buy a monkey?

I think a lot of people come here and read the forums but don't post. So I don't think that you can determine a newbie by the amount of posts he made. But there are some newbies with a lot of posts

Newbies can't post at the Validated News forum. they can at best post at the "News Submissions"

Unless you are talking about a "Newbie Developer"

Are they featuring nondestructive edition already?

What does 'non-destructive' mean?

I don't claim to be an old member, 'cos I'm not, but I find it interesting that
new releases are so often announced to us by members with less than 10 posts...
R they trying to impress?

OK, I read about it, but does 'destructive' have anything to do with deterioration
in quality?

I don't think so. It's mostly practicity, speed and ease of use.

I'm not sure what's the problem here. Everybody can submit news for validation. Of course it's only better the faster new news appear for validation. Of course news can be edited by admins/mods if necessary.
In this case though Dumonte posted this specific news to general forum, and Jan moved it to validated news.
I don't quite understand your way of thinking. What possibly there's to impress about a post telling that new CoolEdit 2.1 pro is out?? People are happy to get new news quickly, but I do not think people are actually "impressed" or posters expect people to become impressed..

I didn't intend to offend newbies posting in this forum, nor
do I have any problem. After all, I'm feeling pretty much like a newbie myself.
I was just making an observation. I for one find it
peculiar when members with 3 posts and with no apparent link to the program
released decided to inform us about it. Not that I'm not thankful about it, it's
just that I would have expected such posts by older members or developers.
In this case Dumonte told us about the new version of a well known program,
but in other cases people show up out of nowhere to inform us about the
new wma plugin of the Super Duper Blablaplayer 2.25 or something like that...
And I think to myself, these people are new to this wonderful forum about
audio-compression and their 2nd post is about this? It strikes me as odd, but
I guess I must sound silly, so forget I mentioned it...
