DVD-Audiofile 0.81 for Mac

Hi there

Afaik David Chapman's dvda-author does support 5.1, but DVD-Audiofile, which runs on Mac doesn't. The created AOB File is empty
Is there any chance to handle that or do I have to buy discWelder??

Regards

Can't tell you about the mac, but AFAIK "David Chapman's dvda-authoring" tool was never finished and multi channel files were still on the to do list.
There is that other issue that if you want 96kHz sample rate you can go up to 4.0. The limit is the data rate of DVD which is in the case of DVD-A 9600 kps (9000 to be save).
After that you would need MPL compression, that is only supported in DiscWelder Chrome (and more professional software like Sonic DVD-A Architect).
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

LP[/b]: Meridian Lossless Packing

Yes, MLP is the lossless compression used on DVD-Audio

Ok, meanwhile I purchased the discWelder Bronze and it works fine, with the mentioned limitation to 48 kHz.
Im going to try to reduce my files to 4.0 to burn them in 96 kHz Quality.
The Chrome Edition being sold for 2500 bucks is out of question.
I was very disappointed to see the DVD-Audio Format vanishing but now I discovered downloadable 5.0 FLAC's on Gimell and Linn Records which I'm now able to burn on DVD-A

I'm likewise disappointed with the lack of support for DVD-A, but Blu-ray offers fantastic possibilities, relatively well supported by the player manufacturers. Any ideas how I can make 192/24 BDs on a Mac? Or even where I can go to find out?
