Audigy PlatEx external Livedrive

I am toying around with the headphone-out on the Audigy 1 external Livedrive. Anyone knows how the DAC in it performs? Is it worse or as good (maybe better) than the one on the soundcard itself? It is audio only relayed on the analogue way to the Livedrive?
