Winamp replacement on Mac OS X?

Hello. I recently converted from Windows to Mac OS X and am now looking for a Winamp replacement. iTunes, frankly, sucks as it doesn't support ogg, ape, etc. and is very intolerant to corrupt or non-standard-compliant mp3 files.

I don't like VLC and MPlayer as audio players; they don't remember the position in the playlist anyway. Audion doesn't support many formats either, and is available only in PPC binary (whereas I use an MacBook Pro; it still works, but consumes more CPU time for instruction translation). I have tried to build and install XMMS through MacPorts, but get some weird error message and that's a completely separate story.

Features that I am (or not) looking for (listed in descending priority):
  • Ability to play multiple formats (mp3, ogg, ape are of top priority; expansibility through plugins or codecs would be nice but not as urgent);
  • Ability to play ShoutCast streams would be nice;
  • Equaliser (with presets would be nice);
  • Visualisation

Does anybody have a good suggestion (other than switching back to Windows or installing a different *nix/Linux distro).

tried http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/ ?

Xiph QuickTime Components (XiphQT) is a set of QuickTime and Macintosh OS X plug-ins. Their role is to provide support for Xiph media compression and container formats. installing XiphQT components is all you need to start using Xiph-formatted media files in a variety of applications - for example, listening to Ogg/Vorbis files in QuickTime Player or iTunes. The programming interfaces used in XiphQT allow the provided functionality to be available transparently to all media handling applications using QuickTime or OS X component mechanisms.
