How do i combine multiple MP3 files of varying high bittrates in 1 MP3

How do i combine multiple MP3 files of varying high bittrates in 1 MP3 file without re-encoding? i know this is possible because you can do it with virtual dub, appending .avi segments with the same mp3 bittrate and sampling rate, it will allows you to direct stream copy the audio with no encoding.

You could strip all tag data from all files and concatenate (join ends to ends).

I think you should find an MP3 splitting program that also supports MP3 joining.

This thread, specifically the recommendation of mp3val, might also be useful:

Also, you might want to look into mp3repacker.

Just pay no mind to my suggestion to store as zip in the link provided by both  bhoar and Remedial Sound.

I was trying to come up with a batchable solution in which case the Windows copy command would have been better.

Either way, the header may need to be fixed in order to get the new concatenated mp3 to play correctly.  Thanks for the extra two links brendan.

i read about mp3wrap but it turns out its a whole different format, and it only comes as a command line utility. i have no experience with command line lol

mp3val seems to be a validation tool ONLY.

mp3repacker seems to actually repack the data which means transcoding.

i meant, can i take a 128 kbps, 192 kbps, and high VBR mp3 file and combine all 3 files into 1 long mp3 file? why would this not be possible? if you can have VBR in a single mp3 file, why not be able to add CBR mp3 files without transcoding?

i use mp3direct cut for my editing and i love it. i read there was a feature to combine other mp3 files, but after searching for 10 minutes i still cannot find the option of combining 2 or more mp3 files with mp3direct cut. how can i combine mp3 files with mp3 direct cut?

thanks for your suggestions! can anyone tell me how to combine multiple mp3 files with the program mp3 direct cut?

thanks!!!

i did, i guess i misunderstood it.

mp3 repacker will append multiple .mp3 files without transcoding? do they HAVE to be the same bittrate?
