question about the boxes in AAC file(e.g.MP4A)

Hi,everyone

  I read the ISO Media File format specification MP4 Technology under consideration ISO/IEC 14496-1:2001/Amd 3,didn't find the any information about the MP4A.
  But the audio file encoded by the NERO 7 (.mp4)or iTunes (.m4a)has the MP4A box contained in the sample Description box  'stsd'.

why?
