Nokia 6230i

I noticed on nokia.com that the new Nokia 6230i was released earlier this month.

I was reading the spec of the phone and noticed the following:

AAC/MP3/M4A stereo music player and FM radio

I understand the web site says that is can handle mmc cards upto 512Mb but some sites have said that the older 6230 is able to take 1024Mb cards!  So I'm assuming that the new 6230i should be able to handle 1024Mb cards too.

Anyway, the fact that it can support M4A, does that mean it can play Apple Lossless files?

I believe it plays iTunes encoded files which have been encoded using AAC its just that the phone can read the file properly with its headers and such.

Indeed it can but it is very very fussy which memory cards it will read (this is the original 6230). If Nokia says it can support upto 512MB I would say thats all it can support... just borrow a 1GB SD card and see what happens doesn't hurt to try.

Sorry to jump in here ( dont say i'm advertising ), and i am normally not the type of the guy pimping M$ products, but since yesterday my Windows Mobile based Smartphone can play

Vorbis
MP3
FLAC
AAC
HE-AAC

thanks to Betaplayer Smartphone Edition  ...... and Picard promised soon this will even work from MKA files, which is working fine for the PDA Version of it already, but there is a strange bug for the smartphone version preventing to read the MKV/MKA filetype.
