foobar plugin similar to Winamp Library

Is there any plugin for foobar which is equivalent to the Winamp Library? (I really liked the Winamp Library searchengine)

Check 'album list' panel and 'playlist tree' panel. I don't know if this is similar to what you're looking for

No (or not yet at least)

foobar has a couple of great tools (Album list, extended playlist generator, multi-playlist support to name a few) but no real media library.

Maybe in foobar0.9 or 1.0, who knows...

Check out 'playlist tree' component, you can customize it to your needs. For me it's a Media library.

Whether FB2K will get media library or not has nothing to do with it's version number, but more with the fact wether some component developer will be willing to spend time on writing one or not.

The ability to write a component that is a full featured media library definitely is there already and there is no need for any version jumps. If no one is going to write one it certainly won't be there in 0.9 either, or 1.0 or 2.0 and so on.

What does the album list panel not do that a media library does?

Because... it's not a media library?
I mean, Album list can be a media library for you if you just need music to be sorted in different ways/views. It's perfect for that.

Again, whats the actual difference?  I'm not seeing it.

I think the main difference is that you setup Album list (or any other foobar plugin) to scan folders at start-up for changes...  so it will not "automatically" manage your media... my definiation of a media library (but others is probably different  )
