Compilation CD?

I'm going through all my ID3 tags and correcting some what freedb and CDDB tagged wrong. What exactly constitutes a tag of "compination cd"? Soundtracks? Greatest Hits CDs? Whats your take on the subject?

I didn't know there was a Compilation field in ID3 tags.  I just thought this was something new that Apple included in their tagging for AAC.

But in my opinion, a compilation is any album that has songs from various artists.  This could be soundtracks or just compilation albums such as the NOW series, Best of 80's Rock, etc.
