I can give you one hint, it depends more on the drive than on the "ripper" (i.e. audio extraction software).

If all other options fail, I usually copy the disc with clonecd and rip the copy...works everytime.

According test at cdrinfo.com the Pioneer DVR107D doesn't rip key2audio protected discs. My bet is that this is the reason for your problem...

But I don't think that means that it is 100% sure that it is not possible the rip the disc in your drive. You may need to try different settings in EAC and it may work. First determine the protection used on the CD (use clonyxl) then do a search...

gday...

as mentioned.. clonecd. and then rip from image..

ps. imagetools.. have you tried isobuster..
haven`t failed me in any way.. and should rip
whatever is on CD/DVD..

it don`t encode.. but it`s realy not much trouble
to set up a script.. that will take care of that
after extraction.

beside. you got the splended frontends to speek.

and secondly.. cdda2wav.. try it.
if am not far fetch.. cdda2wav is capable to
overide any physical manipulation..
it also uses paranoia.
several good frontends is aviable.

another image alternative is ddump
with the handy frontend from ErazoR.
http://www.geocities.com/ddumpfrontend/

in the end.. there is not a protection scheme
that not can be defeated.. nor will it be..
it`s just a question of combo.

I have a key2audio protected cd which I was not able to rip with EAC.
I managed to get a perfect copy this way:

1. Created an 1:1 image with Alcohol 120% at the lowest possible speed (faster speeds meant some click and pops)
2. Mounted it on virtual drive thru Daemon-Tools
3. Ripped with EAC after retrieving natural TOC

Mind you, I have a Plextor Premium and what has been said before about the importance of your drive is correct. Anyway you could give it a try...

ciao..

yes.. alcohol is very trusted..
not using it myself though.

forgot two..
another soft. that should beat
most protection scheme`s
(if not all)
is padus discjuggler.

btw.. if BAO is installed.. try this one out..
it used ddump.. but uses cdrdao also for reading
now.. the options is about the same though..

hmmm....
I've read many discussions about copyprotected "cd's" now, but I'm still uncertian of how they work.
Key2audio is 'easy', and the best copyprotection for buyers. It's not that hard to get past, and if you manage it, you probably get a perfect copy.

CDS100 & CDS200 I don't really understand.
What have they done?
1. Destroyed parts of the errorcorrection on the cd, but left the audiotrack/sectors untouched.
2. Destroyed parts of the audiodata, but left the errorcorrection intact for these samples.
3. Destroyed both the errorcorrection & the audiodata for the same samples, and  the player then have to make the best possible passage between the last correct sample and the next one.

Anybody who could fill me in?

Well so far I have been able to rip all my copy protected cds with my Lite On 40*12*48 drive with updated firmware.  I have noticed that in some cases a firmware update will bring some definite improvements.

Usually I can copy these protected cds just fine when using EAC in burst mode.  Not exactly the most trusted error correction then, but so far I have not been able to hear any audible glitches on any of these rips.

Copy protection is the only reason for me to use burst mode though. Regular cds will always get ripped secure.

EAC (burst), CDex, audiograbber, WinDAC, CloneCD, Alcohol, BlindWrite, Nero, Discjuggler, DDump, CDRWin, ....whatever, all this stuff won't help if this copy-protection irritates your drive - so what should the software do if your drive doesn't stop trying to get access to the CD (and also all these .dlls which try to avoid ATIP-Reading will fail as your drive still does not stop trying to get access, its busy with this damn biuldin appetite (don't know if a firmware-modification could change this or even not)) - the software won't be able to communicate with your drive.
I have an LG-drive which has its problems with key2audio.
BTW in the past I copied this Shakira-album for my sister, but I still need some help of a friend who has an Plextor-Drive which was able to handle key2audio.
My 'K's Choice - live'-album also has key2audio and fcks up my drive, I had to use the old pen-trick to mask the outer session. All went fine.
I don't  know if the pen-trick can also be successfull with newer versions of key2audio (ok, your album is not that new), you have to google for that.
I would take a non-permanent marker and give it a try, before wasting all the time with different softwares (just a tip, I still know how much time I spend with this problem, used different softwares and modes, opened alcohol-images with Cooledit and so on... no no, there's still no fun).
Good luck!

Damn industry with its copy-protections - I make a copy of MY CD as much as I want, I paid for my music, so I should be able to make a copy when I want to have MY CD at different locations etc.
Paying for music is also an appreciation of the musicians art within your possibilities, you will also have better CDs and some nice brooklets - sure, buying every CD is too expensive (the music publisher still want to have too much money - half prize would be a triple sale in my opinion) and maybe a lot of earwigs are not worth the prize....

edit: the friend was a neighbour who was in my flat at that time - we tried his drive before using any pen at shakira, so you have to look, Idunno

My personnal statement here, based on ~20 protected discs, 5 cd/dvd drives, using eac, cdex & easy cd-da :

- Yes, drive is much more important than ripper (so try different ones...)
- If it works with a drive/ripper, it should work with eac and the same drive (so always try with eac)
- Slim cd drives (the one you find in notebooks & SFF PCs) makes it better (don't ask why  )
- Not always linked to the drive model : different drives from the same model can have different reactions (maybe linked to the firmware version ? Didn't had opportunity to check).
