You'd never heard it before? Wow.

I've heard that album so much I can hardly stand to listen to it anymore.
It's the most overplayed Pink Floyd album on FM radio here in the states along with Wish You Were Here and to a lesser extent, The Wall.

All three are fantastic albums, but I'd rather listen to Meddle or Animals or The Final Cut  as I won't have the urge to disembowel myself with a coathanger because every single note is ingrained into my unconcious psyche

If you liked Dark Side, I have no doubt that you will like Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall.

As an amusing aside, at the very end of "Eclipse" (on Dark Side), when the song has faded out, you can crank up the volume and hear someone who sounds a lot like Frank Sinatra in the background, who legend has it, was rehearsing in the adjacent studio.

I have heard numerous Pink Floyd songs on the radio but would be hard pressed to identify them on my own (aside from that one I can sing small bits of), and never have listened to a single album from them.
my musical tastes tend to go from 1890-early 1950's and skip over large chunks of the 60's and 70's.

Also, note that DSotM is one of Pink Floyd's "loop" albums.  The end of the last track is the beginning of the first track.

The same is true for The Wall.  The beginning of a spoken sentence ends the album ("Somebody spoke...").  The end of the same sentence begins it ("...when we came in.").  Load the album into your audio player's playlist, drag the last track to the top of the playlist, then play them one after another and you can hear the whole sentence (with a short gap, though).

I've got 16 PF albums currently.  Animals is my favorite, but DSotM is in my top 5 favorites for sure.  I love all their albums, though.  (Except maybe the Ummagumma studio album.  It's pretty eccentric.  )

Also, play Dark Side of the Moon and watch the movie "The Wizard of Oz" with the movie sound muted.  I think when the MGM lion roars in the opening is where you're supposed to begin the album playing, if I recall correctly.

Now you're just being overly polite!

I was never really impressed with that trick except at certain points with the whirlwind- I preferred the "Echoes" and 2001 (inside the monolith) linkup.

On a somewhat related note: I will make it my personal goal in life to ensure that every member of the Scissor Sisters dies a slow and painful death.

For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about (lucky bastards): do a Google search for: "scissor sisters" "comfortably numb".

Edit: more here.
