Mac > Finder
Windows > iTunes

You can use TuneFusion if you want things to be super simple.

You don't need to route anything through iTunes either way. Mobile foobar2000 has built-in FTP server that makes it very fast to transfer files with an FTP client, as long as the phone and the source machine are in the same network. Navigate to Settings, open FTP Server, make sure read-only isn't enabled, start server. It will show the address to connect to.

Use a FTP client, like FileZilla, to open the address shown by foobar and upload the data you want.

I have not yet figured out how to enable the FTP server in Foobar2000 mobile.

Connect it to your MAC with a cord and a Device icon will appear on the left side.
Clicking on that icon will bring up the same screen as when transferring with iTunes, so proceed as shown.

On Android, files will be saved in the foobar2000 Music folder.
In Media Library, check the foobar2000 Music folder and scan.

Drag and drop the folder (Tracks) onto the foobar2000 icon on the iTunes transfer screen.
Skin files can probably be transferred in the same way.

iTunes is not installed.

For Windows is not necessary to use iTunes. You can also use the folder option and drag&drop that way. I use Remote Desktop to manage this wirelessly but there are other ways as well. In the Foobar app you can add the folder(s) separately to your library.

There is nothing negative about it. The iTunes method is an effective way to transfer music to iPhone that many still use. But some users prefer not to use iTunes any more. I simply provided an alternative method that doesn't require iTunes.

Fact - iTunes for Windows still exists and can be used to transfer music to an iPhone
Fact - music files can be transferred to an iPhone without using iTunes or Apple Music
Fact - Foobar can play the music files for either of these sources
