How are you doing the conversion (the software and settings you're using in foobar2000) and what version of foobar2000 are you using?
Who are you and how did you get in here ?

To play you need
foo_input_sacd + foo_out_asio+dsd

what you need to convert
DSD Converte (foo_dsd_converter) + DSD Processor

Playlist View Context menu > "Convert -> DSD convert"

What's going on with file size?
-------
foobar2000 Preferences > Tools > SACD > Converter > DSD Processor
"DSD Processor" You do not need to do anything in particular because it is a setting that is done as needed.

Try:
Context menu > Convert > DSD convert > Output format > DSF
foobar2000 Preferences > Tools > SACD > DSD+PCM
Output:
foobar2000 Preferences > Playback > Output > Device > ASIO+DSD: DSD DAC ASIO Driver

Don't use DSP Manager and Output Fading.

If I were to debug issues like this, I would have tried to set up a completely new portable fb2k, and see what possibly makes it work.

That was surely not specific enough for this particular issue. Converting to DSD is something I would only do out of curiosity, after all it is not a useful format.

Some forum members are trained scientists who would be happy to know. Or unhappy to get just another round of that mumbo-jumbo.

Thanks, it helped! just selected "None" in the DSD Processor in Tools > SACD
edit: problem still persists, seems like i wanted to convert the .dsf file to .dsf...
edit2: problem persists but only with .mus files...
edit3: when the converting of mp3 file comes to an end, the error occurs "Invalid Parameters"

OK but this topic isnt about if difference between DSD and PCM exist, create other thread for that, and chill. it will become an offtop if we will argue about, and i need just help, for sure you may find proper forum where they will explain to you why dsd is exactly better and on what exactly it relies on, and why it outperform any PCM format, just not here, ok? And that DSD is better it isnt that like i just invented this argument, i rely on what has been scientifically proved, not just believe my ears.
