Looking for a DSP - 7.1 or 5.1 Virtualization for Headphones

Hello. I haven't been able to find any sort of plugins for this aside from Dolby Headphone, which I use, but I don't particularly like. Is there any other DSP like a 7.1 or 5.1 convolver? Or something similar that can take 7.1 or 5.1 channels and virtualize them for a surround experience in headphones?

I've used sound cards like the EPOS | Sennheiser GSX 1000, and I do like the virtualization on that device, but I need something that is a DSP and not a hardware feature, which I can change to in foobar when I play multi-channel tracks.

Thank you.

I may make a virtual headphone plugin in the near future. It would be based on the HeSuVi HRIR design standard, and support any configuration of up to 8 channels following the MPEG channel order specification, and output stereo. It can use either kissfft or fftw3 for FFT-based convolution, and operates on block sizes of up to 512 samples at a time.

The HeSuVi HRIR standard supports either 7 channel configuration, which is all the left output mappings of the 7 supported inputs, and the right outputs are taken from the respective symmetrical inputs in that set. And it supports a 14 channel configuration, where every input has both left and right output impulses.

That's awesome! Good to hear, and I hope things go well with it.
