Wildcards in m3u or m3u8 playlists?

Is it possible to omit the extension or to use wildcards
in place of the extension in m3u or m3u8 files?

If yes, how?

I tried and changed one with "*" but it didn't work.

Thanks.

No it is impossible. M3U is simply a list of exact files located on your disk. It is not a script for searching files accordingly to any kind of defined criteria and/or wildcards.
