Bump!

(Please, people, read this thread and understand what has been done here before criticizing the 128kbps test)

I found a complete work (1h40, or 100 minutes), encoded with mpc --radio at 127,7 kbps. But one track is > 170 kbps, and from this one, I can extract a 50 second sample where --radio profile reachs... 305 kbps !!!

Now imagine people, based on this exemple, claiming that it isn't fair for CBR challengers to compete with a 300 kbps... imagine the same people claming that tester need to lower the bitrate at strictly 128 kbps (--quality 2.4 for mpc, and --quality 0.8 for Vorbis !). Or just imagine people asking to compensate the difference by a simple ratio (mpc notation x 128 / 300 = fair notation). And this all despite the fact of the perfect 128 kbps average bitrate on the complete work. The complete absurdity of some arguments, calculation, reproach... may appear more clearly to some people with this exemple...

If someone want to write a complete argumentation, in order to fight the sophisms repeated many times by some members, based on this good exemple, I can sent complete documentation : encspot bitrate report, mpcbits stats, sample... all, except the whole album. I can only write this properly in french langage.
Wavpack Hybrid: one encoder for all scenarios
WavPack -c4.5hx6 (44100Hz & 48000Hz) ≈ 390 kbps + correction file
WavPack -c4hx6 (96000Hz) ≈ 768 kbps + correction file
WavPack -h (SACD & DSD) ≈ 2400 kbps at 2.8224 MHz

Hum.
Are the docs in English?
I'd like to see those.
