Hide taskbar icon / balance control

Hello, I'm trying to switch to Foobar from AIMP. I am completely satisfied with all possibilities and functions of Foobar. But there are two things which prevents me to set Foobar as default player.

The first: Icon in taskbar - I never want this icon, icon in notification bar should be enough. The player is running all the time, I never end it. Icon in taskbar is useless for me and uselessly takes place. I cannot stand it. The question: Is there any possibility to hide taskbar icon like in Winamp or AIMP? I know about possibilty of hiding icon when Foobar is minimalized, but I want to hide icon even if Foobar is not minimalized, simply _always_.

The second: Every other player has balance (left/right) control. I use this balance very often. Where is this control in Foobar? I cannot find it either as toolbar nor in settings.

I has solved all other problems aleready. When I will solve these two ones, I will set up Foobar as my default player. I think it is too far better than the others. Thank for advice.

For the first problem. Open the Foobar2000 preferences > display > deault user interface. play around with the system notification area settings. I think minimize to notification area is about as close are you going to get
Who are you and how did you get in here ?

Easily solved by a component. Not sure what you are getting at though...............

Do they? Can I get some real statistics on this? VLC doesn’t seem to offer balance, for one. I don’t recall WMP or MPC having any, either, although I’m less sure of those. I’m not sure it’s as common as you’re claiming here.

To elaborate on mudlord’s comment, searching in more depth will be more informative for you, but have a free link I found on a quick search: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=73904

As far as I can see, the summary is this. Despite what some people may expect, the demand for a simple balance control in foobar2000 (for stereo setups) was not big enough that someone actually created one. On the other hand, there are plugins which offer comparable functionality for multi-channel setups.

For those who have finally learned that DS produces the same SQ as WASAPI and ASIO (if not required by some hardware), the Window sound control panel will let you change the balance. I personally have a DSP on line at all times and change the balance there.
