how to edit id3 metadata quickly, itunes-style

hello all, if any of you have used itunes before, youll be familiar with the ability to edit the id3 metadata tags for one track, then click next (or previous) and then go on to edit those for the next track in the playlist. this is not the same as editing multiple tracks at once and giving them all the same values, but allows you to go quickly down the list and edit one by one without having to go through the whole right clicking process track by track. is there a way to do what itunes allowed?

No, it's not possible to cycle through tracks in the Properties dialog; however, there are additional tag editing components which allow you to add and/or edit tags more efficiently once set up. Some open in their own window and some can be added to your layout.

I prefer TagBox for use with the DUI and CUI. It's slightly odd in that it has two different dialog boxes (each with its own configuration) depending upon where you open it from. To configure the box opened via the context menu entry, there is a page in the foobar Preferences. To configure the box opened via the View menu, you must open the box to access its settings.

Tagger Panel for use with CUI is also good but is somewhat confusing to configure as it doesn't have a page in the foobar's Preferences to do so. You must add it to your layout first as all configuration is accomplished through right-clicking on the panel itself.

Neither TagBox nor Tagger Panel access online information, but both have auto-populate/auto-suggest as well as other features which make for certainly faster if not also easier tag editing when compared to doing so through foobar's Properties dialog.

No, it's not possible to cycle through tracks in the Properties dialog ...

It is possible by selecting tracks either from Playlist or whereever else, opening the selection in properties dialog and selecting there all fields that should be edited. By "edit" from right clicks context menu you will get an interface where you can cycle by keyboard from one track to the next.
