Born in Vejle, Denmark (You know the country that legalized pornography in 1969)
Raised just north of Copenhagen, currently residing in Copenhagen.

I always thought the sexiest Scandinavian country was Norway with their melodic intonation when speaking, saunas and beautiful girls on skis falling on top of you. Mmmmm...

I'm from Slovenia.
That's central Europe. Not so East, not so West, but Central.
Right in the middle.

I'm from Belleville, IL, USA.  A town, about 20 miles east of St. Louis (home of the now horrible St. Louis Rams American Football team).  It's a town with a French name, yet was settled mostly by German immigrants, so most people have really long, hard to pronounce last names.  And most of the people still think they are German, even though they are, in fact, American (I have never understood why, when you ask third and fourth generation Americans what nationality they are, they answer the primary country of their ancestors and not "American").

Well I'm sorry to those that I might have "offended".

There are actually 10 choices for the poll but I thought I split it up fairly evenly. I always thought that Europe was mostly split by East-West (at least in the US it is, because of the Cold War I guess). I hope that that didn't get any Northern Europeans upset (esp. since my mother was from Odense, Denmark and my father from Ystwyth, Wales).

About lumping Africa, Antartica and others together since only one person has voted for it I can assume that I'm not that wrong for lumping the rest together.
Sorry, I have nothing witty to say here.

spived: Yeah... how do you feel about etc?

This poll suffers a bit from egocentrism... There are 6 groups of people: Me, my family, my neighbours, other people in my town, the rest in my country and finally some other people far away.

Ok, not that bad  But why grouping people from Africa, New Zealand and Mexico in the same bin? hmm...

By the way.. It almost seems to be more scandinavians here than (north) americans. We want our own group too!

Well i think that Mexico should go under Central America and about New Zealand I'm sorry but there are only so many choices. You may also know that I left out Greenland (Earth's largest island ! ), Fiji, St. Helena, etc.  Sorry.

That's why you can post under this topic so that you can clarify where you are from if you don't like the choices.
Sorry, I have nothing witty to say here.

i dunno. i'm "american," but i don't really identify with mainstream american culture (with the possible exception of use of technology, but i think that legacy belongs to western european thought). i think that's one of the things about "america," though. it's a pretty big place with a lot of people, and while we're mostly alike, i think that there are a lot of regional differences (especially between the contiguous and non-contiguous states). e.g. for how many americans is spam the breakfast meat of choice;)

but maybe i just see more differences here because it's where i live... i'm fairly certain that there are far more acute cultural divides in the average was-a-european-colony (e.g. pretty much any african country).

Born in Soviet Union, Siberia, Omsk city. A proud citizen of Israel for last 12 years.
As about the poll, I donno what to vote for... We are so obviously located in Asia, but my government works so hard to look like we are a part of Europe... All this so confusing
