where is the fix-point anysis?

Hi,
 
    Now I am studying in fix-point mp3 decoder. I have two questions:
   
  1) How to evaluate the music quality? where is the tool?
 
  2) Where can I find some materials about fix-point analysis. For example,  the SRN which is caused by requantitization with fix-point algorithm ?
