'follow cursor' with multiple playlists & random

Hello, I'm new to these fora and foobar.

One thing I've just noticed and wanted to enquire about. I had disabled 'follow cursor' because it got in my way (e.g. when working on other tracks in the playlist while playing) and I liked the new behaviour better.

Suppose I was playing the default playlist and stopped. Now I make a new playlist, add some files and press 'play'; the old playlist (default) continues playing (though the new one is in focus). With that, I need to double-click a song in the new playlist for it to start playing. This is not what I want, for example, when I have the playing order set to random; I have to select the first song to be played.

My question is, should the 'follow cursor' option not apply to when I have another playlist open and press 'play', when playing was stopped (i.e. not when a song ends and the next begins)? I want the 'play' button to play the playlist I have selected.

On another note, what's up with the foo_shuffle plugin (that I can't seem to be able to find)? Is there any other plugin that allows shuffle play?
EDIT: found the foo_shuffle thread all the way up there

Another thing I've noticed...

I often need to listen to 'some other song' while my main playlist is playing. Intuitively, I:
- pause my main playlist
- open up a new one
- listen to something in the new playlist
- kill the new playlist, return to the main one
- press 'play' and expect playback to resume where it left off

Not only does playback not resume, but (without 'follow cursor') it starts all over. Is there any way to have it remember where I paused it?
(similar to the 'resume playback after restart' option, only between playlists)

Thanks.

dont think so, but you could use multiple instances of foobar (copy your foobar dir, run second instance from there) pause your main foobar, use second foobar to hear other song.
