OS X and LAME

In another discussion Gabriel of LAME Development made a suggestion about compiling LAME with nasm. I tried it and discovered about a 20% increase in speed (preset standard and preset extreme) I was wondering about any other suggestions for flags minx or even the g77 compiler for enhancing LAME compiles.
