[v1.4 final] Auto-scroll even when the mouse is outside Playlist Organizer

Hi,

Another "new" behaviour I have noticed with 1.4 final is that now :

- When I'm "inside" the Playlist Organizer component, when mouse approaches the top of the components, it scrolls up, and when it approaches the bottom of the component, it scrolls down. I hadn't noticed that behaviour before ! Is that new to 1.4 final, and how to disable it ?

- But even worse, that behaviour stays EVEN when my mouse is completely "outside" of the Playlist Organizer component. So if I move my mouse near the top of the screen, the Playlist Organizer component will scroll up. Same with the bottom of the screen. This is weird.

If you are speaking about a drag and drop operation it has always been like this and is not specific to V1.4.
There is no other auto scrolling with Playlist Organizer, at least that I can reproduce here.

I've also had that problem with the beta's:  I assumed it was something else on my computer messing with mouse button messages (e.g. my Wacom tablet.)  When it's happening it happens all of the time, but it doesn't happen that often.  I never could figure out what the cause was.

Thanks tedsmith for confirming that the issue is real. :)

Nemo, it has nothing to do with Drag & Drop. I just hover my mouse across the UI and that's all.

I've been using Playlist Organizer since forever, and sure, AFAIK there's not supposed to be any auto-scrolling. Well, now thanks to 1.4 there is ! lol. So it's most probably an unintended behaviour that needs to be found and fixed.

Indeed it doesn't happen systematically, but when it's happening it happens all the time. Something must trigger it.
It started happening right after I performed a foobar 1.4 beta to 1.4 update. Nothing else was touched, aside from installing Waveform Minibar component.

Besides, I don't have any exotic stuff in my computer (no Wacom tablet, lol).

Just a thought - does Playlist Organizer use modifier keys (CTRL, ALT, SHIFT) for anything? Could be one of the keys is firing / sticking. Or middle mouse button inadvertently firing, which often defaults to scrolling as you describe (even outside the scrollbox) - perhaps a bug triggering one of these actions?

In my case I have no modifier keys bound to Playlist Organizer, no pressed keys at any moment, no middle mouse button used.

I just move the mouse across the UI, and the Playlist Organizer component scrolls up or down.  Amusing for a couple of seconds, then annoying.

Again, this behaviour has suddenly appeared right after foobar's 1.4 update that I did yesterday evening. I'm a very "old" foobar user, and in my thousands of hours with foobar I had never experienced that before yesterday. Hence my report.

Just a small bump, since AFAIK no workaround has been found yet.
The problem still happens, randomly. When it happens, it's right from foobar2000's startup, and vice-versa.
So to be reproduced one needs to startup foobar a certain number of times until it happens.

Well in the time since you posted this thread, two other people in the discussion thread have reported the same. Unfortunately it will probably remain a mystery as long as a developer cannot reproduce it.

Perhaps if the four of you posted your component list you might find a similarity in your setup? Although that assumes there is an external cause, rather than something inadvertent that changed in 1.4.

Well, I tend to have a stable config (I hardly change components). So I think the problem really is 1.4-related, since it's started happening as soon as I updated to 1.4.
Also, the fact that the four of us have reported this problem only recently, seems to prove that it's 1.4-related. Previously nobody reported it because it didn't exist before 1.4.

It could however be related to the particular Playlist Organizer component AND to foobar2000 v1.4.
Something seems to trigger the "auto-scroll bug" when these two things are put together.
With Playlist Organizer and foobar2000 v1.3.x, it didn't happen.
And Playlist Organizer hasn't been updated since december 2016.

I'm having the same bug, thought initially was a "feature"  :o
Is really annoying...
I have a vertical divider, when hovering with the mouse the top left side, the playlist organizer auto scrolls in the top right side.

Just ran into this issue in my Foobar v1.6.6 with foo_plorg v2.6 on a Windows 11 machine

Not entirely sure if this fixes the issue but when I went into windows mouse settings and turned off "Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them" and the problem went away

However, when I turn it back on, I am unable to reproduce the issue... so, grain of salt.
