Where this noise might come from?

Hi!

On Creative forums, one poster have an issue with E-MU 0404 USB audio interface. Here are some quotes from his posts:

Then I starting record something via SPDIF, all seems to be ok.

I recorded one track, another, third. And then I listen that i recorded, there are bzzz in the mix. I founded them on track third, for example. The first and second tracks are good, without any distortion.

I used a Creative X-Fi Elite for a while, with the same computer & same keyboard (SPDIF source) => all was OK.

So I'm pretty sure that the problem is in 0404.

The noise appers in recorded tracks regardless source, as analog as spdif

Looks like individual samples are corrupted. Probably a synchronization error. Need to synchronize sample clock to the SPDIF input.

Hi,

it very much sounds like a lock problem between two digital devices. The receiver loses sync, catches up and after almost 16 seconds loses sync again. Do you have an option to verify (monitor) the lock status of the receiving device ? Also verify that both devices are set and resolved to the same clock (either all devices should lock to a common clock reference, or they should slave to the incoming signal).
