How To Split Up An MP3 With a Cue Sheet?

Hi

I've got a single-mp3 radio mix and a corresponding cue sheet to split it up into multiple tracks.

I'm familiar with how to split a wav with a cue sheet using "Exact Audio Copy", however I don't know how to do the same thing for an mp3.

Apologies if this has been discussed numerous times before (a search here didn't turn up the answer).

Any feedback is appreciated.

It's one of the few apps that cuts VBRs properly.

You are kidding. I've tried them all and none of those tools cuts VBR files properly except for pcutmp3, which you can download from http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=35654 for free.

Those 'other' vbr cutters usually don't cut at the right time (might be up to 20 seconds off) or they get rid of the mp3 seek function meaning that you can't skip in your mp3's as easily. They also purge the mp3header and destroy the ability of gapless playback once the file has been cut.

pcutmp3 solves it all and it is free
--alt-presets are there for a reason! These other switches DO NOT work better than it, trust me on this.
LAME + Joint Stereo doesn't destroy 'Stereo'

Agreed pcutmp3 is the only tool for this. Other tools are unable to store lame-compatible gapless headers.
Can't wait for a HD-AAC encoder :P

mp3DirectCUT www.mpesch3.de

I've never managed to split a VBR properly with mp3DirectCut. My experience is that it can be off by as much as a country mile wrt cut positions. It seems strictly geared toward CBR material, although I haven't revisited the app in over a year.

mp3DirectCUT is only good if you want to edit a CBR file...that is, taking out several parts or fade in the song or something. Otherwise, it is useless for vbr cutting. But again, pcutmp3 is perfect for it
