Help! Digital Out on Audigy 2ZS

I'm trying to use the digital out jack on my Audigy 2ZS (in a Dell XPS), connecting to a 7.1 Marantz receiver. I'm using a Toslink-to-Toslink Digital Optical Cable (w/ Mini Adapter for the Audigy's digital output). No sound at all comes out.

What I've tried so far for troubleshooting:
1) The analog out works fine
2) I've played with Creative's analog/digital control panel options including sampling rate
3) The same toslink-toslink cable when used with an external DVD player (but WITHOUT the Mini Adapter), using the same input on the receiver works fine.
4) Uninsstalled/reinstalled all creative software

Any help would be hugely appreciated!!! Creative's tech support saying it's not their problem..Dell saying it's not THEIR problem. I'm out of ideas

AFAIK, A2ZS does not have any optical out. It has digital out to co-ax. I used a thick stereo mini to RCA adapter Y cable to connect to my receiver. The left channel connected to the digital RCA co-ax input of my receiver and it worked fine.

I finally switched to using 6ch direct into the receiver using 3 stereo mini to 2 RCA 'Y' adapter cables (since my receiver does not upmix stereo to surround). This way I get surround in music and games instead of stereo and using the A2ZS decoder for DVDs instead of the receivers was not really much different anyway.
