AFAIK, the original creator is allowed to re-license his own code, so i can make MAREO 3.0 closed source, for example ... thats why we have MySQL GPL and commercial licenses.

Yes, but Vlad uses code from the "old" MrQuestionMan and as a third-party, he cannot make AI closed source.

Oh, btw. I got a mail reply from Miriam. I thought I'll post it here for everybody to see, so we have an official response from the other side:

Hi!

You "violated" your own license, by not making public MrQM's source any more. This is anything but ethical. It's a sign of fear of AI's success and, more general, fear of competition.
Thanks to your public "appreciation" regarding the quality of AI's source-code, we decided that it's in everyone's best interest to have it removed from our web page.

We're done with open-source, just as you are.

Have a nice day!

Best regards, Vlad Rusu, BitAttack

My, what a bunch of bullsh*t. An ego the size of Romania. I'm not supporting this software anymore.

Come on you relicenced to close source because one unscrupulous person has used your code without giving you credit.. There should be an other way to settle this :/

The hell with Vlad and his stolen-source software. Back to good ol' Mr. Questionman.

That is not true. Even here on this forum, there is another person that uses code from MAC/ATL without giving any credit. And there are many more, trust me. You wouldn't believe how insolent some people are, like commercial authors asking for help when they have a problem using our code in their commercial apps... That made me go like "WTF?!?". Are people really that ignorant? So the whole AI issue was just the top of the iceberg and the final nail in the coffin, that made me finally move away from OSS.

exactly, gambit, can re-license as closed source (he can't prevent people to use his old open source code, but they must do it under gambits original license)

As you could expect he just deleted the post on his forum and didn't explain.
