Labeling Your Music Archive

I'm hope this is the right place for such a question, I suppose "general audio" would do just as nice but oh well...

When labeling (or fixing more like it) artists in your library, are there certain criteria you use to apply to bands with "the" as the first word in the title? For example do you prefer "Beatles" or "The Beatles" (I chose the former).  On the other hand I would probably keep the "the" for "The Fucking Champs," but it is kind of a grey area.  How do you handle it?

On a similar, though less important, note, how do you tag artists whose full name is used as the title a la "John Frusciante."  Lastly, (culminating all of these issues) would you use "The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion" or "Spencer, John, Blues Explosion, The" hahah how rediculous that looks!
