Where can I find a guide on setting up plextools and how can I be sure that the results its getting are better than EAC?

The drive i'll be using is their 12/10/32 SCSI model, can't remember the model number.

cheers

About EAC and PlexTools quality; I don't have a Plextor drive, but as far as I know, EAC is supposed to deliver perfect results, unless the ripping log states otherwise (an error occured). How can a perfect result be beat (provided you've configured EAC correctly - secure mode, offsets and such)? However, on some troublesome discs (scratched discs etc), someone on this forum claimed that PlexTools did a better job of ripping such a disc than EAC did. EAC reported errors, whereas the PlexTools rip sounded perfect (glitch-free). They also claimed that they were able to rip the disc faster with PlexTools than with EAC.

I can't remember the thread, but I think it's possible to find using the search function (the thread is several months old I believe).

If I had a Plextor drive, I'd use EAC at all times (because it's worked very well with my rips so far and I like the security it delivers). If EAC were to fail on a rip (an error occured or something), I'd try using PlexTools and see if it performed better. Afterwards, maybe check the WAVs using the DeGlitch tool.

I have heard other people having better results with plextools too. Plextools was designed for the Plextor so i guess plextools should work better than EAC.

That might have been me.

A recent annoying development...I did a clean reinstall of Win98se this past weekend and now I can't get any version of Plextools to run.  I'll probably just go back to using EAC as I don't have the energy to bother figuring out why.
