Can foo_upnp render multichannel FLACs gaplessly over HDMI?

I play FLAC rips of multichannel albums through my Oppo over HDMI to my AVR using it as a renderer with BubbleUPnP Server (written by the author of fooUPnP) and Twonky as the DLNA/UPnP file magager, but the Oppo doesn't play gaplessly.

It occurs to me that since foobar 2000 + fooUPnP can act as a gapless "Open Home" renderer with BubbleUPnP Server, and should be able to play gaplessly over HDMI, this should give me the ability to play multichannel albums gaplessly.

Has anyone done this? I'm still running a very old version of foobar - 1.3.1), but I'll update to the current version if necessary.
