Ratings not showing up in the viewer on Linux/Wine install?

Has anyone tried using the "Ratings on Foobar" option via Wine?
I have used that setup on foobar on a windows machine for years, not sure I can do without it now, but the "stars" now just show up as little rectangles. In truth I couldn't care less if they were stars or rectangles but it just shows 5 rectangles for everything whether it has been tagged with a 3, 5 or not star rating?
I think it might have to do with fonts but am not sure.

I think you already answered your own question. Fonts would be the first obvious culprit here. Which font were you using in windows to display the ratings and is this font present in linux?
