winamp-style adjustment of the sliders as the mouse pointer is moved across the sliders horizontally instead of having to click and drag each one individually.

Neither foo_dsp_eq nor xgeq have Apply button.

Yes, but xgeq has a master gain slider, so you won't have to use the preamp preference anymore.

how about moving that control to the equalizer that foobar has already?
