How do I get <CHANNEL_MODE> info to display for DTS files?

I've just recently got my dts rips working in foobar thanks to the new WASAPI plugin and I'd like to do some more interesting stuff than just show the codec as DTS. I was looking at the properties page for my dts files and noticed in the properties page that there was a "<CHANNEL_MODE>" tag which contained: "3 front, 2 rear surround channels." I'd love to be able to display that for my dts files because they have varying files, but I can't see anyway to get that information outside of the properties page. I've tried %channel_mode%, $info(channel_mode), $meta(channel_mode), etc. and it's like the tag doesn't exist, yet foobar seems to know about it. Is there anyway to retrieve/generate this information?

Whoops, apparently I hadn't tried $info(channel_mode) and that worked. Anyway that could get added to the Title formatting wiki?

Back to the original topic, this info field is not generated for AC-3 files which is kind of disappointing. I guess there's no way to get anything other than the number of channels for them.

In the course of finding out who developed this so I could suggest that you request the feature, I learned that the plugins enabling support of AC3 and DTS are by kode54 and therefore aren’t first-party; this thread will now be moved out of General accordingly.

I know that the plugins for AC3 and DTS are by kode54, however you don't need the foo_input_dts to open DTS files (not sure about playback atm) and to get the <CHANNEL_MODE> info on them. I'm pretty sure that and the other channel stuff is handled by foobar. Not sure if it's the same for AC3, but my guess is that it is and if so, I'm not sure it's actually a 3rd party issue.

I've added the corresponding information to foo_ac3.

Tried this out and it works as expected. One thing to be aware of is that you have to Reload Info for files already in your library, otherwise it won't show up.

Thanks again Kode.
