Quick Replay/MP3/WaveGain question...

Does one's hardware player or software player have to support the "Gain Family" of products to get the benefit?  I have a Nomad Jukebox, so I'm trying to figure out if it will use the MP3Gain data.

I know you can use WaveGain first then encode.  That would make the encoded files "gained" but compatible without any additional plug-ins or firmware.

If you use mp3gain the mp3-file itself will be modified and all players will play at the volume you made the files.
This is not the case of you replaygain using ape2 tags (as you would do if using foobar to replaygain).
Many other formats use tags instead of modifying the file too (ogg, mpc).
