weird artifacts with eig + HE-AAC

I originally noticed some weird artifacts with this sample in the 48k test, and it seems to only be present when SBR is in use. It doesn't sound like any SBR artifact I've heard before. What's causing those weird clicking sounds?

Original sample is here

eig.aac is CT AAC at 64kbps, eigq.25.mp4 is Nero Digital with -q0.25 (-c/br 64000 doesn't help)

It's a difficult sample. It's not surprise if sbr sounds like that if even there is same kind of issue at higher bitrates. This sample isn't transparent for LAME at 320 kbit/s.

I know, but the artifact is very different from the pre-echo you hear with everything else. I'm just curious as to what makes it generate weird clicking noises.
