Black playlist

As the topic says, I'm using a fresh install of the .9 beta and columns_ui 1.3. Whenever I try to import a .FCS I'm greeted with this:

The tracks are still playable by double clicking somewhere in the black square, Im just not able to see them. Any thoughts?

This happens with every fcs you try?  Perhaps the .fcs files were designed for 0.8.3, and thus don't match the 0.9 titleformatting syntax correctly, thus, all you get is black.

Are global variables enabled?

Preferences > Columns UI > Playlist View > Globals

Ensure the "Enable global variables for display" is checked.

I have a similiar problem.

I only have foobar2000 0.8.3 (special, dunno if that matters) and UI version 0.1.2 and I also get a blackplaylist, when I enable that option nothing chanes.

That is without importing a .FCS.

When I load a .FCS I get this error:
'INFO (CORE) : startup time: 201 ms
WARNING (foo_ui_columns) : unknown element found in file, skipping'

Sry if I'm hijacking the thread :-(

If something like that happened to me i would probably reinstall foobar

I actually had that exact problem before this one, I recommend upgrading to the beta and doing the above suggestions, everything's right as rain now.

Meh, the beta just kept doing weird things, I don't plan on going back to that one again.

I reinstalled it at least 20 times, didn't work at all.

Anyway, I fiddled with some things, I have NO idea what I just pressed on everything I suppose, and it works now. Got some things configured as album art, lyrics etc.

Looks pretty cool now :-)

Enabling checkboxes aren't always going to fix other misconfigurations. The colour string in 0.1.2 is not optional, and required a specific syntax. If yours does not output in the correct syntax, expect the unexpected. (GIGO?)

The error message means that an unrecognised "field"/setting was encountered in the fcs file and was ignored. This would usually occur after I added a new setting to the fcs files in a new version of columns ui, without bumping the fcs version.

The two probable possibilties of what happened are:
-You used an fcs file created with a 0.1.3 version older than pre alpha 16
-You're using a version of columns ui older than 0.1.2 final.

I would say probably the latter. Bear in mind the special installer for 0.8.3 on foobar2000.org comes with an old alpha version of 0.1.2, unless it changed recently. I did try and check now but I've actually managed to make the installer blow up on me, stuck at 100% cpu.... [edit]I can add that it does actually come with 0.1.2 final now (and that the installer consistently blows up here with /e...)
